Park City's Ted Ligety, the gold medalist in the combined at the 2006 Turin Olympics, finished ninth in Tuesday's giant slalom at the Vancouver Olympics. Carlo Janka of Switzerland added the Olympic gold medal to his world championship in giant slalom on Tuesday, while Bode Miller failed to finish in his bid for a record fourth mens Alpine medal.
